This snapshot measures submissions, not unique homeowners, national demand, or completed jobs. Carpet leads; the remaining projects are tied and shown alphabetically. See how we counted.
PROJECT TRENDS & PLANNING
Plan the visit, not just one task
Small jobs add up. Bundling them into one visit means one call, one scheduling window, and often lower trip charges. Seasonal checklists make it easy to spot what your home needs next.
A punch list starts with your home
List each installation, repair, or maintenance task separately. Photos and clear descriptions help a pro understand the complete visit.
Our national price book is a modeled planning reference—not a survey of completed jobs or a contractor’s personalized quote. The existing cost guides explain the estimates and the factors behind them.
01
Scope matters more than the project name
Two requests for the same job can involve different amounts of work. A small drywall patch and a repair with damaged backing, texture matching, and painting are not the same scope.
A faucet replacement depends on the fixture and the condition of the existing plumbing. Difficult access or additional valve work can change what is included. Confirm parts and labor before booking.
Painting is more than applying a finish. Surface preparation, protection, trim, and coats influence the work involved. Compare estimates for the same scope, not just the same room.
We reviewed saved homeowner submissions from August 6–October 24, 2026. The report includes eligible U.S. and Canadian requests, including legitimate archived requests. These are submitted requests, not verified completed jobs. We rebuild this snapshot every three months and update this page only after each review.
What was excluded
We excluded identified owner, internal, and test submissions, contractor solicitations, and requests without a valid U.S. or Canadian location. Repeat homeowner submissions remain included. No saved requests were deleted or changed for this report.
How projects were compared
Each listed project is counted separately within an eligible submission, including bundled visits. Repeat submissions from the same homeowner count again, so this measures submission volume rather than unique requests. Catalog labels are standardized; unmatched custom requests stay unclassified. Free-text notes are not interpreted as extra projects. Projects are ordered by submission volume, with ties alphabetically.
Cost-factor sources
The cost-factor sections use HandymanQuote’s national price book, cost guides, and editorial resources—not prices from the requests in this report. Price-book review date: .
Privacy & estimate boundaries
Research does not publish customer details, contractor-specific prices, or personalized estimates. After submitting your project details and contact information, your estimate uses local contractor pricing where available or a national estimate. Your pro confirms final scope and pricing.
